About This Site
About the site
This is version 2.2.71 of the cheechoo.net framework.
This is just a silly little photoblog that is primarily for my own enjoyment.
It is driven by a homegrown Java-based Web framework called the
"Simple Web Framework". In addition to being
a mediocre photographer, I also play at being a software engineer during the day.
Like my photography, I enjoy programming (especially Web based) and it's this
enjoyment that motivates me to post daily photos and to hack the software backing
this thing.
I've made an effort to ensure that the site is standards compliant
and accessible.
It should be HTML transitional
with valid css.
Why is it not XHTML? See this post on the WebKit blog,
this document by Ian Hickson,
and this blog posting by Anne Kesteren.
The white to black widget allows the background and text color to be changed,
as well as providing a visual cue for adjusting the contrast and brightness of monitors.
Finally, for those curious about the strange name, "yiqianzi" is the romanization
of "a thousand words" (as in "a photo is worth a thousand words") using the
pinyin system.

I used to keep a short list of photoblogs I visited regularly right here... but it
changed too often to be maintained properly here. There are, however, a small handful
of photobogs that have been and are particularly influential to me:
